The Anambra state government has dismissed a report claiming Governor Willie Obiano said evil spirits were inside the government house

The Sun reports that the governor’s chief press secretary, James Eze, said the Obiano was not at the prayer venue where the said statement was allegedly made.

He also noted that the investigation had shown that the comment was a mischievous interpretation of a prayer point raised by Rev Prosper Amah of Ogbaru Diocese of the Anglican Communion at the prayer gathering.

Eze said the clergyman was raised the prayer pint when praying against the challenges facing the nation in general and Anambra state in particular with reference to the recent petrol tanker fire outbreaks.

The clarification by the Anambra state government followed a claim in the media that Governor Willie Obiano has said that there were evil spirits in the government house.

The report had alleged that the governor made the statement on Saturday, November 2, at the province of the niger, Anglican prayer rally in Anambra state.

The newspaper stated that the governor who was represented by the secretary to the state government, Solo Chukwubelu, urged the church to pray for the evil spirits to leave the government house permanently so that the government can provide quality services to the people.
